Insights into Pyrolysis Kinetics, Thermodynamics, and the Reaction Mechanism of Wheat Straw for Its Resource Utilization

To realize the energy recovery of wheat straw, pyrolysis behavior straw was studied at three heating rates (10, 20, and 30 K/min) based on thermogravimetric analysis (TG–DTG). Kinetics thermodynamics were analyzed using Flynn–Wall–Ozawa (FWO) Kissinger–Akahira–Sunose (KAS) model-free methods, reaction mechanism determined Coats–Redfern (CR) model-fitting method. The results show that there are weightlessness stages in process, which second stage main two distinct peaks observed this stage. With increasing rate, pyrolytic DTG curve shift to high-temperature side. activation energies calculated by FWO KAS methods 165.17–440.02 kJ/mol 163.72–452.07 kJ/mol, pre-exponential factors vary range 2.58 × 1012–7.45 1036 s−1 1.91 1012–8.66 1037 s−1, respectively. thermodynamic parameters indicate has favorable conditions for product formation it is a promising feedstock. Its nonspontaneous output stable. CR method shows A1/3 random nucleation model most suitable characterize process may be charge This study can provide theoretical basis thermochemical conversion utilization straw.
